We were able to receive support that exceeded our target amount. By collecting “voices that parents would like to hear” and publishing the results in this white paper, we would like to communicate the kind of child-rearing that will be needed in the coming era. We are conducting a survey to “listen to the voices that parents want to hear” until December 15th (Friday) with a goal of 1000 responses. We received many happy comments from those who responded to this survey, such as, “This is the first time I’ve ever done a survey that has benefits for those who answer,” and “I shed tears while answering.” This survey is unprecedented as it allows you to reflect on your own life and generate new awareness. In order to improve the content of “Parenting White Paper 2024″, we ask for your cooperation in responding to the questionnaire.

In Japanese society, there are many people who do not find a purpose in life or feel a sense of happiness, and who have a narrow
perspective that equates their value to their school grades. Parents’ generation is unable to grasp the trends of the times, is bound by old-fashioned values, and imposes them on their children. The child then becomes a mirror image of his or her parents, becoming obsessed with his or her grades and relationships with friends, feeling stressed, and lacking confidence in himself/herself.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Survey on various problems in student guidance such as problem behavior and refusal to attend school” released by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on October 3, 2023, the number of students refusing to attend school at elementary and junior high schools in 2022 was the highest ever at 29. 681,948 cases of bullying were recognized at elementary, junior high and high schools, and the number of students who committed suicide reported from elementary, junior high and high schools was 411 (compared to 368 in the previous year) since the survey began. This is the highest number ever. Additionally, according to the Nippon Foundation’s 46th “Awareness of Country and Society (Six Countries Survey)” of the 18-Year-Old Attitude Survey, 65.3% of respondents answered that they “feel anxious or depressed in daily life.” Social issues related to children are becoming more prominent, with the number being the highest in the country.
One of the reasons for this is that parents themselves live only with traditional values (if you get into a good school or a good company, you’ll be safe for the rest of your life), and they feel uneasy about changing those values, and they become addicted to takotsubo. We believe that this is because there are. Because parents themselves are living in a stressful society and are not living their lives in a shining light, they are not able to show their children how they should be.

I believe that in the future we will need a society where both parents and children accept each other, feel a sense of happiness, and live their lives with smiles on their faces. The parents’ generation has changed their traditional values (good schools, jobs at good companies), shines brightly on their own, and recognizes and embraces their children with pure love. Would you like to aim for a society where children accept themselves, have confidence in themselves, are surrounded by friends they can truly rely on, and live their lives with excitement every day? I believe that by realizing such a society, we will develop wonderful human resources who will support Japan in the future.

Therefore, people with similar ideas get together and work to disseminate their ideas to as many people as possible.
Through my activities, I have seen many cases where parents’ unresolved mental issues end up giving the same mental issues to their children.
“I wasn’t accepted as a child.”
“I couldn’t study, so I have to help my children learn.”
“I wasn’t able to live the life I wanted, so I want my children to do it for me.”
“I will make my child follow my values.”
The reality is that there are many cases where things are pretending to be “for the child” but are actually “for me.” Children are swayed by their parents, overly concerned with their parents’ feelings, suppress their own feelings, and are unable to live their own lives.Children’s hearts are hurt and they lose self-confidence. I have seen many cases where the body reacts when it gets worse. Recently, the term “educational abuse” has become more common. [Image 4
Nowadays, there is a strong need for adults, local residents, and governments to know that children have rights, and to work to ensure that those rights are protected. On April 1, 2023, the national government launched the Children and Families Agency with the goal of creating a “society in which children live together.”
While always feeling the need for “parental education” and proceeding with the activities of the parenting network,
“First of all, the parents have to change.”
“Parenting is important, isn’t it?”
We are now receiving a lot of feedback. Many people intuitively feel the significance and necessity of “parenting,” but the reality is that it cannot be quantified in a numerical form.
We set up an internal Parenting Study Group, and held repeated discussions among volunteer regular members.
We then conducted a survey of about 400 people and created the “Parenting White Paper” in 2021.

Parenting = Parental upbringing
However, as we listened to the feedback from those who responded, we realized that this survey itself was a form of “parental education.” “This is the best survey ever, with benefits for those who respond.” “This is a wonderful survey, so I would like everyone to know about it.” I was also happy to hear that.
Although it is called a survey, it may not be a survey at all. We are conducting this project with the belief that disseminating the voices of people we have received to the world will lead to better
child-rearing and, as a result, will lead to the development of people who will lead the times.
In order to disseminate the results of this survey, we would like to create a “Parenting White Paper 2024,” and we will be crowdfunding with the theme “I want to create a “Parenting White Paper 2024” to convey the importance of parenting.” The event was held from September 18th (Monday) to November 6th (Monday), and we received support that exceeded our target amount from everyone who shared our thoughts.

Until now, there has not been much research that has focused on the role of parents. In the previous white paper, we gradually clarified what is required of people involved in child-rearing, but this time, by reflecting the voices of children, we will find hints for child-rearing from both the parents’ and children’s perspectives. I would like this white paper to lead to new ideas to solve the problems of people who are worried about raising children. For this reason, the more people who respond, the more profound the content will be. We aim to use the Parenting White Paper as an opportunity to create a system to help as many people as possible who are worried or worried about raising children, and to make society aware of the importance of parenting.

▼Tadaaki Kuroda, Representative Director of NPO Parent Education Network “People who have a purpose in life act independently, feel joyful and happy, and walk their own path.” We have been promoting co-education activities centered on Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture, while constantly asking the question of “Deaf children.” Now that the new coronavirus has made it clear that traditional values (if you go to a good school or a good company, you’ll be safe for the rest of your life) are no longer valid, we have the ability to change flexibly while keeping an eye on the trends of the times. What is needed is the ability to think for yourself and carve out a path for yourself. Today’s society has become too rich and convenient. Everything depends on you, if you go there, you can do something, if you give money, you can do something. In that way, I feel like I’m taking advantage of the moment and missing out on the opportunity to think for myself. This is no longer sustainable.
An independent and spiritually rich person who knows what is enough, does not pursue immediate profits or old-fashioned values, but has a broad perspective that looks at social issues and the times, and has the ability to live independently and in the future society. I want to raise our children. To achieve this, adults must first change and live their lives to shine. By conveying that image in the way you are, your children will shine, and their future will shine as well.
In order to foster the next generation in a healthy manner, we will continue to share our thoughts, grow together, and create a space together to develop people who have the strength to live in the future.
