The Niigata University of Food and Agriculture Men’s Rugby Club, a member of the NSG Group, will play against Kokushikan University in the Kanto University League match on Sunday, December 10th in a bid to be promoted to the second division.
Our university’s men’s rugby club, now in its fourth year of existence, participated in the Kanto University Rugby League Division 5 in its first year of existence. The replacement match that year was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the official match including the replacement match started the following year, the second year of the club’s founding. From there, they advanced to the 3rd division, winning all the games in this year’s 3rd division league, and advanced to the 2nd division with 22 straight wins in official games.

○Captain Tomoya Ishikawa (4th year, Department of Food Industry/Kiryu Daiichi High School)
Last year, I suffered a serious injury and had to watch the team from outside the field for a year. I also have those regrets.
In the replacement match against Kokushikan University, we thoroughly dominated by aggressively defending without hesitation.
I think so. In addition, I have put everything into the match in front of me in order to reward the people who have supported me with this result.
vinegar.
○Athlete Supervisor Kento Tachiki (4th year, Department of Food Industry/Shiojiri High School, Tokyo City University)
An unknown rugby team without a playing field has made it to the Kanto League and has come this far. We practiced as “ONETEAM” even in such environments, such as running in rice fields, handmade H-poles made from bamboo, a park full of rocks, and a 45-minute bicycle driving range each way. The fourth grade will be the final section. After being promoted to the second division, I will make sure to “make them understand” as a souvenir for my juniors. [When in doubt, move forward! Move forward without hesitation! ! 】Please provide some support!
○Game Captain Naoki Onuma (3rd year food industry major/Josho Gakuen High School)
I am very happy that we were able to secure a ticket to the
replacement match by winning all three divisions. Even in an environment where there was no playing field, all members of the club humbly prepared for the match. The team will work together as one team, remembering to be grateful, and take on the challenge of replacing the team. I will play with all my might to give the best victory to the 4th graders who will be graduating this year! Please provide some support!

-Niigata University of Food and Agriculture- https://nafu.ac.jp/ The food industry in Japan and around the world requires human resources who understand the entire food chain, the seamless link between production, processing, distribution, and sales, and have specialized knowledge and skills at each stage. Therefore, at our university, we have linked two courses: a common course where you can learn about food chains in an integrated manner, and a course where you can enhance your specialization in each field (agriculture, food, business). We are developing “generalists” in the food industry who have comprehensive knowledge and skills related to “business”. ◇Faculty of Food Industry, Department of Food Industry
[Faculty characteristics]
In the first year, we have a curriculum that allows students to look at the entire food chain and think carefully about their career path and major. From the second year onward, students advance to
specialized courses in either agri, food, or business, acquiring more advanced knowledge and skills.
