Signed MOU with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group to realize nature positivity Planning and considering solutions for preserving natural capital and biodiversity

On March 29, 2024, we aim to realize Nature Positive (Note 2), which conserves natural capital and biodiversity, in collaboration with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (Note 1) (hereinafter referred to as MUFG). We signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) on the same day.
Through this MOU, we will combine the strengths of both companies, such as our technology such as AI and blockchain, our digital transformation (DX) know-how for various customers, and MUFG’s global network and finance capabilities, to realize nature positivity. We will plan and consider solutions. In addition, by collaborating with a variety of customers, we will create business opportunities that help our customers conserve their natural capital and biodiversity, and strengthen their business foundations.

In recent years, the importance of nature positivity has increased among companies and organizations, which aims to reduce the impact on the environment caused by business activities and restore natural capital, including biodiversity. This concept is attracting attention because it not only reduces risks to the natural environment, but also creates business opportunities and strengthens management foundations. As one of our material issues, our company has identified the resolution of global environmental issues, including coexistence with nature, as an area in which we can contribute. In this regard, we aim to collaborate with customers and partners to resolve social issues and achieve sustainable growth.
We have recently agreed to collaborate with MUFG to prioritize the conservation of natural capital and biodiversity, which is one of the global risks, and signed an MOU with the aim of realizing nature positivity.

We will collaborate with MUFG and combine the strengths of both companies to plan and consider solutions to realize nature positivity. Specifically, we will do the following:
・Practical workshops on nature positivity (identifying issues, setting visions, formulating action plans, etc.)
・Planning and considering digital finance solutions that contribute to problem solving
・Consideration of demonstration experiments using solutions (including planning stage)
・Continue to communicate externally and consider launching a consortium
