*We support April Dream, which aims to make April 1st the day to share your dreams. This press release is a dream of MRT Corporation.

Measures have been required to realize sustainable medical services. The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), which has been prevalent for more than two years since 2020, has moved to Category 5 from May 8, 2023, but the spread of infection has been an opportunity for local medical care, including emergency medical care. A problem has emerged.
Under such circumstances, MRT has approximately 345,000 medical professional members (as of December 2023), and provides medical support using a medical human resources platform and online services using the medical DX platform “Door.” We are promoting activities aimed at solving various medical issues, such as utilizing medical treatment and health consultation.
Efforts to address the uneven distribution of doctors in different regions and medical departments
In recent years, in the medical and healthcare industry, with the advancement of an aging society, a shortage of medical personnel, uneven distribution of medical personnel in different regions, and uneven distribution of medical departments have been raised as issues. Physicians tend to be concentrated in urban areas, and securing medical resources in depopulated areas is a major challenge. MRT is working on a “medical version of workation” as part of resolving the regional uneven distribution of doctors and uneven distribution of medical departments.
By matching the needs of local governments that have issues with local medical care with the needs of medical professionals who want to spend their leisure time in local cities while working, we aim to eliminate the uneven distribution of doctors in different regions and medical departments. It is planned to be rolled out in many regions. Initiatives in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture:

Efforts to address medical access issues for people living in mountainous areas, etc.
In mountainous areas, public transportation is not sufficiently provided, and access to medical institutions is difficult, and an increasing number of elderly people are surrendering their driver’s licenses, which are essential for daily life such as going to the hospital and shopping. activities will be restricted.
Since 2021, MRT has been conducting demonstration experiments of “Medical MaaS” based on the “Smart City Project” and “Digital Garden City Nation Initiative” promoted by local governments and the government (Cabinet Office). MRT’s “Medical MaaS” initiative involves nurses and public health nurses visiting patients’ homes in multitasking vehicles, providing health guidance and encouraging consultations in the vehicle, and using the MRT medical DX platform “Door.” to communicate via video calls. This is a service that provides online medical treatment and health consultation by doctors within the hospital. With the spread of “Medical MaaS”, it will be possible to protect the health of many local residents, so we aim to implement it in various parts of the country in the future.
Initiatives in six towns in Mie Prefecture:

Future outlook
To date, MRT has collaborated with many government agencies and worked to resolve various medical issues in the region, such as the shortage of medical workers and medical access issues. In addition, in collaboration with Medling Co., Ltd., which provides medical DX services in Southeast Asia, we will apply the know-how we have cultivated in Japan, such as medical human resource matching and medical DX, to contribute to the improvement of medical care in Southeast Asia.
We will continue to utilize our knowledge and experience to create a society where everyone can receive medical services with peace of mind.
