Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Company) is scheduled to release a new guitar amplifier product in August 2024, the THR30II Wireless TAK MATSUMOTO, a model supervised by guitarist TAK MATSUMOTO (Takahiro Matsumoto).

In 2011, we launched the THR series of desktop guitar amplifiers that meet the needs of guitarists who want to play their guitars anytime, even when away from the stage or studio. In 2019, we released the “THR-II series”, which pursues sound, design, and functionality that meets the needs of modern guitarists, and also includes a fully wireless model. As a “third amp” that is neither a large stage amp nor a small practice amp, it is used by guitarists around the world throughout the series.
The newly released “THR30II Wireless TAK MATSUMOTO” is a model based on the “THR30II Wireless” from the THR-II series, and is equipped with a new sound supervised by guitarist Takahiro Matsumoto. The “OWN MEMORY” on the top of the main unit has 5 preset sounds supervised by Mr. Matsumoto, and the amplifier mode is also equipped with a mode that faithfully reproduces Mr. Matsumoto’s unique sound. In addition to the newly added wah effect, it is also equipped with special effects exclusive to this product such as chorus, flanger, and phaser, allowing you to enjoy Mr. Matsumoto’s distinctive sound called “TAK TONE”. Masu. The free dedicated editor app “THR Remote” (compatible with iOS/Android/Win/macOS) provides over 30 types of guitar sounds that are unique to Mr. Matsumoto. The exterior is finished in sophisticated black and silver, and the top features the logo of Mr. Matsumoto’s label “House Of Strings.”

The free dedicated application “THR Remote” (compatible with iOS/Android/Win/macOS) allows you to easily create more detailed sounds and edit additional parameters that cannot be controlled on the main unit. This time, we have specially preset more than 30 types of Mr. Matsumoto’s distinctive guitar sounds that can only be used with this model. Users can not only enjoy creating sounds freely, but also call up “TAK TONE” from the presets and easily play it.

This project started in December 2022. Through joint development with Yamaha and my guitar tech team, we went through a lot of trial and error, and after many trial runs myself and brainstorming ideas, we were able to create a wonderful amp that we were completely satisfied with. I think you can fully enjoy my present (PRESENT), past (PAST), and recommended sounds (PLEASURE). THR30II Wireless TAK MATSUMOTO is finally completed!
