[77th Cannes Film Festival] The feature film “WILD BOYS” shot in Kyoto/Kameoka by an American director living in Japan will be released on May 14th at the Cannes Film Festival PALAIS DES FESTIVALS D. The soundtrack is by the legendary rock band LOUDNESS, which charted on America’s Billboard magazine for 19 consecutive weeks in the 1980s. ……
The feature film “WILD BOYS” filmed in Kyoto and Kameoka City was released on the opening day of the 77th Cannes Film Festival. It will be shown at the main venue PALAIS DES FESTIVALS Theater PALAIS D. The movie WILD BOYS was written and directed by film director ZAK BANEY. Photographed in Kyoto in May 2023.
This film was screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
It will be released on May 14, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. at PALAIS D Theater. This is director ZAK’s third time to submit to the Cannes Film Festival.

Main cast Mamoru (Rikusho Yoshimoto) 12 years old
She is shy and is always shy. The only time he can express himself is in front of his mother, father, and best friend Kouga. I believe there is nothing scary on earth. Tough and stubborn. Her parents were alcoholics and gamblers, and she grew up in a difficult family environment, far from a normal life. His grades in studies are the worst, and he is only interested in baseball and judo. Although he has enough elements to fit into the cool group at school, he is always by Mamoru’s side, his childhood friend and lifelong best friend. She deeply appreciates and respects the fact that Mamoru never treats her like an idiot and continues to support her so that she can do her best in studies.
