Its name is “Illusion and Magic Space Shinbee Box”
The concept is a fusion of magic and theater (drama). Together with directors, actors, and technical staff who are active in the theater world, we aim to produce works of high quality as performing arts. This first performance will be directed by Shuchin Kane of Shinjuku Ryozanpaku, whose teachers include Juro Kara and Yukio Ninagawa, and who continues to lead underground theater in Japan.
Last year, Kim Soo-jin directed “A Call from the Girl’s City,” starring Shota Yasuda, as the opening series for the new theater THEATER MILANO-ZA, which received great acclaim. In June of this year, she will perform a tent performance called “Mary Poppins with Ochoko’s Umbrella” with Kankuro Nakamura, Etsushi Toyokawa, Shinobu Terashima, Naomasa Roppei, Morio Kazama, and others.
This is of course the first time for Kim Sojin to direct a magic show. The title of the performance is “~Black Fairy Tale~ Moonlight Tower of the Whirlwind Street”
A man who is both a detective and a magician wanders into the Moonlight Tower in Whirlwind Street in search of a missing girl. What he saw there was a mysterious world of fairy tales. A number of fairy tales that everyone knows are expanded into an omnibus, inviting you to a world of fantasy.
Shun Shibuya’s delicate and beautiful magic using advanced techniques will be put on a spectacular display by Shuchin Kane with an underground theatrical production.
In addition, live music and singing by special guests, the popular duo Kuro Sumire, will make the story more three-dimensional.
I hope you will come to the theater to witness what kind of chemical reaction takes place.
