……
The Koshien History Museum, operated by Hanshin Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukushima-ku, Osaka City, President: Yusuke Kusu), will be holding an event at Hanshin Koshien Stadium 100 from June 4th (Tuesday) to September 1st (Sunday). To commemorate the anniversary, we will be holding a sculpture exhibition titled “You are the main character!!” by Tomiyuki Miyase, a sculptor and member of the Japan Art Academy.
Mr. Miyase believes that in high school baseball, where all teams are losers except for one winning team, it is the losers who create the drama, and has created a series of sculptures that focus on the losers of the game. In this sculpture exhibition, we will display three works from among the 14 works exhibited at Nitten from 1988 to 2001.

Fascinated by high school baseball players, he has been making them for 14 years. Now that I think about it, I guess that’s why I’ve been so moved by it. Standing at the top of nearly 4,000 schools is truly a dream world and a miracle. All of them are losers except for one winning school.
Of course, I once thought that the losers are the main actors in creating the drama, since they are overwhelmingly outnumbered. At that time, I wanted to capture it in form as a sculptor. At the moment of defeat, the person unconsciously hits the ground of the mound as hard as he can, and while he just hangs his head, tears fall on the ground. My eyes were glued to the phenomenon that involved the true nature of human beings and their deep spirituality, which could be seen from the karma and despair shown by losers regardless of their pretense. Come again next year! ! A large crowd cheers. There was a big, big, bigger on-site education shura to nurture young people. And there is no doubt that there is much more education in store.
I’m sure Shohei Otani has probably experienced it as well.
postscript
At that time, based on interviews from local tournaments around the country and the Koshien (spring and summer) tournaments, the author adapted his work from facts and devoted himself to expressing phenomena.
