◎Okabe’s sweet corn
Mirai corn is so sweet that it is called “miracle sweet corn” and has a soft husk.Although it is a little small, the kernels are
well-aligned, and the kernels are packed all the way to the tip!
It can be eaten raw, but heating it enhances the sweetness and makes it juicier.
Once corn is harvested, its sugar content will drop over time, so store it in the refrigerator as soon as you buy it. We also recommend heating it up as soon as possible and storing it in the freezer.
It is in season from June to August, and is a true taste of summer. It is rich in dietary fiber, which helps regulate the intestines, and B vitamins, which aid in metabolism, making it a great vegetable to eat when you are easily tired.
Fukaya City was one of the first to introduce the variety “Mirai” and cultivates it mainly in the Okabe area, making it one of the largest production areas in Japan in terms of production and shipment.
