Finally, on June 9th (Sunday) at 9:45 p.m., we will be broadcasting uncut footage of Shizuko Kasagi’s pre-war recordings, which were discovered at the Kobe Film Museum in March of this year, on the original special program “The Legend of Shizuko Kasagi Swinging”. Toshiaki Sato, an entertainment film researcher and adult popular music producer, will explain this valuable footage and talk about the charm of Shizuko Kasagi, the “Queen of Swing” before she became the “Queen of Boogie.” Be sure to burn your eyes into this permanently preserved treasure video!

The footage of Shizuko Kasagi singing before the war is so rare that it can be called unique at the moment.In addition to “Trumpet and Musume”, Shizuko Kasagi has also appeared in “Hot China” and “Hollywood Sightseeing” (Takao Konya). The recording includes the singer singing the song “Seirin Kenmonmon”. Other members of the SGD (Shochiku Gakugeki Company), to which Kasagi belonged, also appear, making it a valuable video for learning about the music shows of the time.
