Nicknames were solicited online and in-house from April 20th (Saturday) to May 20th (Monday). A total of 832 applications were received, and the perfect nicknames were chosen for the four new chicks.

Overview of nickname recruitment
We are looking for nicknames related to Shikoku for the four Cape penguin chicks born this season.
1. Application period: April 20, 2024 (Sat) – May 20, 2024 (Mon) 2.Total number of applications: 832 (including 424 online, 408 in-house) 3. How to apply: Online, by posting in the application box located inside the building
4. Selection: The breeding staff will select and decide from the nicknames submitted.
5. We will give away our original Cape Penguin stuffed animal to 4 people (1 person each) selected by lottery from among the people who became the godparents.
Shikoku Aquarium Business Overview
This aquarium opened in 2020 in Utazu Town, Kagawa Prefecture, located at the foot of Seto Ohashi Bridge and the gateway to Shikoku. With the theme of “Shikoku Aquascape,” 14,000 creatures from around 400 species are on display.In addition to displaying the creatures, the aquarium also depicts the culture of Shikoku and the environment along with the lives of the people who live there. There are various ways to enjoy the aquarium depending on the time of day and season, and those living in Shikoku can rediscover the richness of Shikoku’s water scenery, while those living outside of Shikoku will want to visit the aquarium.
